The Mirrorplexer is a circuit bent 4 channel CCTV multiplexer. It is originally intended to show four video feeds on one screen in various layouts. With this modification I have linked all four video inputs together so all channels display the same video. With the built in on screen display you can edit each of these inputs and create mirror effects or adjust them with the built in proc amps. Now for the glitch effects! I have explored the possibilities of this multiplexer and found some very nice digital circuit bends while doing so. It can do a few of the usual circuit bent RAM fx but has some very unique textures to offer up too. The layout of the controls is intended to be organic. I wanted to do something that would let me break free from the monotony of ultra precise placement. So I instead opted to randomly place the controls and showcase this approach over a large area. The whole thing is sandwiched between some 4mm glass effect acrylic secured together with 12 3mm standoffs. I have quite a few building up now so it seemed like a good idea. I decided to go against what I usually do with the control layout and went with something completely organic feeling instead of a bunch of precisely layed out hardware. Very happy with the result! Using the FB-1000 as a composite video FX processor / RGB time base corrector. Three fx inserts for red, green and blue allow you to process the individual colour channels with external glitch processors while retaining perfect sync. All while outputting the signal via both composite and VGA. Panasonic AVE5 breadboard glitch patchbay Finishing up a few AVE5s for some customers. This is easily my favoritething i add to these mixers. Each side of the breadboard is wired to 17 glitch points for both bus a and bus b of the mixer. The wires are soldered onto the breadboard rows on the underside. You can then use regular breadboard batch cables to make connections. Each row acts as a 5 way mult. The 17" wide console can be used as a desktop unit or a 1U 19" rack mount unit (with supplied rack ears) The controls all reside on the front face of the unit, leaving the top a useable surface to place other pieces of gear (The Panasonic AVE5 and AVE7 video mixers can sit nicely on top for example) The unit features 10 main controls for altering the image. The first two are specific functions, one being the sharpness / softness control and one being the chroma / colour control. The other 8 are the circuit bent effects that can be combined in all sorts of ways. As well as these ten controls there is also a true bypass switch and a "soft bypass" knob. The true bypass switch will completely bypass the FX. The soft bypass knob however will let some of the unaffected video signal mix with the effect video signal when the FX are engaged. Tiny wires soldered to a 0.5mm pitch FPC connector on one of my Mini glitch cameras. This often happens, I find a piece of tech I can find nice circuit bends on that are easy to solder in. I buy a few and mod them, then buy a few more and find its a totally new revision with different circuit board revision inside. This was the case with the Pocket Glitchamatic and the Mini Glitch Cameras. I got tired of trying to find the right revision with easy to solder to vias and just practiced this super fine pitch soldering more. I tried this during the pandemic and failed, chalking it up to impossible to do reliably by hand. Now I can solder this super fine enamle wire to the pins of these FPC connectors in no time! With the //SimpleViz units finally making their way out this month I have made a few more available in the shop. They won't be a regular offering, but whenever I can get my hands on the microcontrollers I'll there will be the odd few up for grabs. Available to order in the web shop (link in bio) they well be shipping in a month The //SimpleViz is a 8bit digital audio visualizer with a black and white composite output (NTSC or PAL) and a mono line audio input. It is inspired by early video games such as pong as well as basic video mixer wipes! It is built & programmed with the popular Arduino IDE and is powered by an atmega 328 at its core. Three audio reactive patterns can be selected and combined, each pattern also has a black fill mode, white fill mode and negative fill mode. There are three control knobs, one for the audio input level, one for the audio input response (adjusts the lag and snappiness) and a third control for refresh rate, turning this knob up reduced the speed the screen is cleared, producing cool repeat effects. Playing around with a neat setup i just put together, will totally be using this at the next gig! I have a //SimpleViz going into a Composite to VGA converter. The VGA output of the converter then plugs into the VGA FX Experimentor and 3 different glitch processors are plugged into it to process the RGB channels (T-420, T-420SE and Cinepacks Glitch FX) Because I'm converting a black and white signal into VGA it means I can "colourize" the signal by changing the RGB level. I just built up the last stock of the eurorack VGA to jack adapters to be sent out next week, I won't be making any more of those, but instead I introduce this much more advanced desktop version! The VGA FX EXPERIMENTER is a desktop utility module that allows you to process HD VGA signals (or HDMI with some cheap converters) through your existing standard definition composite analog glitch processors. Each channel features: - level control -momentary button that maxes out the level with just a press (great performance tool) - a FX bypass switch (to bypass the FX box you have connected to that channel) - a link button (these can link any of the RGB channels together to create interesting colour effects) - a CV input that responds to positive CV or gate inputs to lower or mute that channel (the higher the CV signal, the lower the channel level) Its a great way to experiment with analog HD video, just grab a couple of VGA / HDMI converter boxes and you can process HDMI video as analog signals and then convert them back to HDMI for convenience. No need for a TBC what so ever! The sync signals on VGA are isolated on their own wires and not effected by this device at all. You can glitch as heavy as you want and it will come out as a valid signal. Circuit Bent LIVEPRO L1 Full HD Video Mixer / Chromakeyer The LIVEPRO L1 is an incredibly small fully featured 4 channel HDMI mixer. It can operate standalone with no need to connect it to a computer to take control unlike other HDMI mixers lacking a T-bar. I have given it the LoFi Future treatment and it is now capable of some extremely crisp high definition effects up to 1080P @ 60 FPS! 7 of the buttons effect the HDMI output encoder for wild colourize and posterize glitches, 6 of the push buttons control some frame buffer glitch effects and one of the push buttons along with the knob effect how all of the other effects behave for a large selection of variations. Included with the LIVEPRO L1 is a 1x4 HDMI splitter as the mixer only has one HDMI output. This allows you to create a fully HD feedback loop! This Mixer has a built in USB3.0 capture card (this is why it only has 1 HDMI out) but as this bypasses the HDMI output encoder those effects are not seen on that output. However, when using a feedback loop the HDMI encoder fx also become apparent on the capture card output in interesting ways. I update these to the latest firmware before they go out so they also have the chromakey effects. Had these PCBs made a few months ago, completley forgot about them untill the other day. Its basically a desktop version of my VGA to jack adapters with a bunch more features and RCA connectors. It lets you take a VGA signal and route each colour channel through a seperate analogue glitch processor. Each channel has a level control, a momentary on button, an fx bypass button, a link button that sums the RGB channels together for colorizer effects and a CV input for each channel that respond to 0-5V to attenuate the channels. Boring admin post alert!! The past few months have been somewhat of a challenge when it comes to international shipping as I predominantly used Royal Mail for almost all of our packages going out. If you didn't already know there have been a number of strikes that have effected shipping times and overall reliability. New for 2023, a self contained High Definition Analog Glitch processor. I spent a lot of time developing this idea last year and it's finally ready for a PCB order. It works with VGA signals (which as you may know support full 1080p HD resolutions) Provides some amazing colourize effects as well as some popular glitch effects like edge ringing and noise, only with this processor the red, green and blue signals are processed independently and the sync signals remain clean and untouched. Each channel has two processor cores. One based off the archer video enhancer and one based off of the T-420, both optimized to work with VGA signals but still completley capable of processing stadnard def composite video signals. Could be used as 3 independent composite glitch processor for instance. The input / outputs are on a seperate module to allow for desktop and eurorack configurations while using the same faceplate / main PCB. Here is a prototype of a new processor we will be releasing in 2023. The production unit will be in a smaller desktop / euro format but the prototypes have been built into this 19" rack format. It features sharpness, chroma and contrast controls as well as 8 different glitch effects that can be combined together. The contrast fader has a significant influence on how the glitch effects behave so this has an audio reactive circuit attached to it. Circuit Bent FOR-A Video Pointer *Sold* Stopping production of the T-420 & AudioViz models this month. The main reason being that are just too labour intensive to build with all the hand drilling and finishing that's involved. So there will be a few unique builds coming up for sale to fill the gap and fund the next product release. First up is this custom circuit bent Video Pointer! It's one of those super overkill pieces of office equipment. Such a huge metal box just to display a movable curser over a composite video feed. I love it! I completley stripped it back to bare metal snd went crazy with the Pabeo mixed media special effects paints. It was then coated that in a protective layer of epoxy resin. The front panel was polished and given a coat of resin too.
